Honor Guard Basic Camp

We will be hosting a Honor Guard Basic Camp September 25th – 29th and wanted to see if you would help spread the word. The camp cost is $225 per individual or $200 ea (for a group of 8 or more). This is a 40-hour class which will cover topics such as: •Basic and Advanced Drill and Ceremony •Color Guard and Parade Details •Flag Law, Etiquette and Customs •Uniform Wear and Appearance •Honors Funeral Services Note: This class includes a lot of hands-on skills including spending long periods on your feet marching, carrying flags, ceremonial axes and pike poles (or decommissioned rifles) and caskets, folding flags and standing in formations. The 2017 Firefighter Combat Challenge World Finals will be held at the Louisville Marriott East, 1903 Embassy Square Blvd, Louisville, KY 40299 the week of October 23rd through the 28th. Solar Eclipse

As many of you know, there will be a total solar eclipse happening on August 21st. This is the first complete eclipse that will be visible in the contiguous United States since 1979 and the experts concur that the best location to view this phenomena will take place near Hopkinsville, KY. An extremely large crowd is expected to be on hand, with 9 of the 10 nearby campgrounds already booked full. Should there be a need to deploy firefighters and equipment for this eclipse, we are looking to put together a list of people and equipment that will be available from August 19-22.
