Kevin Bayens Obituary - Arch L. Heady at Resthaven | Louisville KY Bayens, Kevin Michael, Major Kevin Michael Bayens, 35, of Louisville, was called home to be with the Lord on the morning of November 23, 2016, with loving family and friends by his side. He devoted his life to his community since 1999 as a fire fighter for the Highview Fire Department and as their Fire Marshall since 2013, not only saving lives and putting out fires, but also as a trainer and instructor for the last 12 years at Texas A&M, along with being a volunteer for the Edmonson/Grayson County Anetta Fire Department. It is with deep sadness I inform you of the death of Firefighter Ted Rodney Collett. He was 41 years old. Firefighter Collett sustained injuries while fighting a fire on October 29, 2016. He was hospitalized at Pikeville Regional Medical Center where he passed Thursday evening at approximately 8:30 p.m. Rodney is survived by his parents Shirley and Ted Collett. He was a member of both the Red Bird Fire Department and the Bell County Fire Department. He will be missed by many. RECRUIT WEEK 40 Hours COURSE DESCRIPTION: This class will cover the KY Fire Commission required hours for Firefighter Survival (FC10000) 8 hours, Firefighter Rescue (FC20000) 8 hours, KY Wildland Awareness (FC30000) 4 hours, KY Flashover Recognition & Survival (FC40000) 8 hours. This class will also cover 4 hours of Vehicle Fires (M0002) and 4 hours of Aircraft (W0000). ALERT - Needing Assistance

ALERT!!! ALERT!!! ALERT!!! As most of you know by now, we are working an active wildfire situation in the Harlan/Hazard area. We have deployed a team of 50 firefighters with multiple equipment. I need to compile a team of 50 firefighters that are certified and have had the wildland firefighter awareness class to deploy Monday morning, November 7th, 2016. If you can provide manpower, equipment and apparatus that would be greatly appreciated. The Governor has signed the declaration and Emergency Management has filed the paperwork with FEMA.
