Free Accidental Death Insurance
KFA Member Fire &/or EMS Departments,
In case you were not at the 2007 KFA Conference at KY Dam Village, the KFA
Executive Board entered into an agreement with the American Income Life
Insurance Company where they will provide, free of charge, up to a two thousand
($2,000) Accidental Death and Dismemberment Policy to eligible FIRE/EMS personal
in the Commonwealth of KY. There are no strings attached.
To be eligible, you must be an active member of a fire department recognized by
the Fire Commission, and said department must be a due's paying member of the
Kentucky Firefighters Association. If your department has paid their
seventy-five ($75.00) dues, then every member of the department, whether paid or
volunteer is eligible for the policy. In addition to the life and accident
insurance there are other benefits as well.
The contact person with American Income Life is Ms. Linda Melton. Her e-mail
address is lindamelton1@aol.com. Her mailing address is PO Box 192, Slaughters,
KY. 42456.
To simplify matters, if the Chief or someone designated by the Chief would
contact Ms. Melton if you are interested things would flow more smoothly.
Remember, the only stipulation is that your fire department, paid, combination
or volunteer must be a dues paying member of the Kentucky Firefighters
Association and recognized by the Governor's Fire Commission.
The coverage they are providing is not just for FIRE or EMS activities. It
covers you around the clock on or off duty. This would be in addition to any
other personal coverage you may already have.
Everyone, please help get the word out to your neighboring departments.
Thanks
David E. Jansing, IAAI-CFI
Assistant Chief
Secretary, KFA
